DAY 01 ARRIVE IN ROME (B, D)
Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel. Day at leisure. Explore Eternal City’s grand piazzas that including the Spanish Steps, the legendary Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the baroque Piazza Navona. Dinner on your own.
DAY 02 ROME (B)
After breakfast, visit the Roman Forum, the central area of the city from which ancient Rome developed. Next, view the triumphal Arch of Constantine, erected by the Roman Senate to commemorate Constantine’s tenth year of leadership over the Eternal City. On to the mighty Colosseum, the largest amphitheater built in the Roman Empire that seated over 50,000, where gladiator contests and public events were attended by the rich, the poor and by the Emperor himself. In the afternoon visit the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's masterpiece, the Sistine Chapel. Stroll through one of the most important art collections of the world. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries and the Geographical Maps before arriving to the Sistine Chapel, with its great frescoes by Michelangelo. Head to St. Peter's Square, passing Bernini's famous colonnade to view St. Peter's Basilica, built on the burial site of Saint Peter. Discover the delights of Rome this evening on your own. Stop at a local café for dinner and savor a cappuccino, indulge in a delectable gelato or try an authentic Italian pizza.
DAY 03 ASSISI – FLORENCE (B)
Depart Rome to the small medieval town of Assisi perched high on a hill in the Umbria region, with its Roman ruins, winding medieval streets and sacred shrines. Assisi is best known as the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi - patron saint of Italy. Its main attraction is the 13th-century Basilica di San Francesco, one of the artistic highlights of medieval Europe which contains the sacred relics of St. Francis and Giotto's astonishing frescoes. The town of Assisi has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its significant art and architecture. Afterwards, continue to the lively Renaissance city of Florence, with its priceless art and architecture for overnight.
DAY 04 FLORENCE
Today's tour of Florence begins with a visit to the Academia of Fine Arts, where Michelangelo's David is housed; marvel at this glorious piece of art. Walk to the magnificent Duomo, celebrated for its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi and view the Baptistery's renowned “Gates of Paradise” by Ghiberti. Continue on a walk through the open-air museum at Signoria Square, ending at the splendid Ponte Vecchio, also known as the “Old Bridge”. Florence is indeed the center of the world’s finest art and architecture. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in this spectacular Renaissance city or book visit the Uffizi Gallery.

Florence and the fine arts are synonymous. This guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery provides insight to the history of the structure and its collections. Originally the private collection of the Medici family, the palazzo was opened to the public in 1765. Your tour highlights exceptional examples of Florentine painting with an aim to help you better understand the works of masters including Giotto, Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci. Tour participation guarantees immediate entry to the Gallery, with no lengthy waits in oftentimes two-three hour queues. ** Important: Please note that the museum has a limited maximum capacity and therefore reserves the right to restrict admission. DAY 05 PISA – VENICE (B, D)
Depart Florence, traveling through the stunning golden landscape of Tuscany, dotted with olive and fig trees, to Pisa where we view the famous Piazza dei Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, one of the most instantly recognizable structures on earth. The monuments on the extraordinary Piazza dei Miracoli create a unique architectural blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Then continue to Venice to embark the river-ship. Boarding in the evening in Venice. Settling into your cabins. Welcome cocktail reception served in the lounge. Dinner on board.
DAY 06 VENICE - BURANO – VENICE (B, L, D)
After breakfast on board, you will participate in excursions proposed:
Visit the Dodge’s Palace and Piazza San Marco or take an Optional Activity: Tour following the footsteps of Casanova in Venice (provided by river-ship operator). In the afternoon excursion to captivating Lagoon islands Burano and Murano. First stop is a fishing island and is famous for its traditional lacework. Murano is famous for its glasswork not and its fine churches of St. Maria and St. Donato, one of the oldest in the lagoon. Return on board for dinner and cruise to Venice.
DAY 07 VENICE (B, L, D)
In the morning, we will visit a handcraft manufactory of gondolas and famous Venetian masks. Enjoy a free afternoon in Venice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board. Free evening to explore Venice independently on foot or take an Optional Activity: Gondola ride (booking and settlement on board).
DAY 08 VENICE - CHIOGGIA (or nearby) – VENICE (B,L,D)
Cruise to Chioggia. Included excursion is the Tour of Padua, town of St. Anthony of Padua. Also Optional Activity: Hiking on the wine route through the Euganean Hills and the village of Arqua Petrarca (provided by river-ship operator). Return on board in Venice. Onboard Event: Gala evening.
DAY 09 VENICE
Breakfast on board before disembarking in Venice. Transfer to Venice International airport to take flight back home.

Tour fees are based on double occupancy and lower deck stateroom onboard river-ship. The total tour supplement fee for a single occupancy traveler is $790. The upper deck double occupancy supplement fee is $490 per person.

Depending on your departure point, you may experience a long flight, so we advise you to arrange your flight early enough to get to the Rome airport: Leonardo da Vinci International Airport ( FCO). Also, you should schedule your return flight from the international Venice Airport Marco Polo (VCE).
